Between the lines

February 2014: Inspired by architecture and graphic design as well as by “anti-fashion-heroes“ such as Issey Miyake, Yohji Yamamoto and Helmut Lang, these abstracted collar neck pieces are playing with ambiguities and generate grey-areas between the fields of jewellery and fashion. The hard and shiny copper (as representative of the “jewellery-component”) is contrary to the soft thread of wool (as representative of the “fashion-constituent”). The thread slides through the metal as if it was hand-sewn – thereby illustrating the fashion-characteristic act of sewing by creating fissures on top of the metal. This work has been exhibited at Biblioteca della Moda in Milano in February 2014: http://www.bibliotecadellamoda.it/
